This is a superb antique Scottish Victorian hallmarked sterling silver egg shaped teapot weighing 476 grams and measuring 9″ (23 cms) across from handle to tip of spout x 7″ (18 cms) tall and in excellent condition – any marks you can see are just reflections from the photographs.
It is hallmarked for Edinburgh 1862 with the silversmiths mark for J.Hay.
This lovely teapot is nice and clean inside making it perfectly usable and it holds 1 1/4 pints.
This particular shape is quite unusual and there are no inscriptions or monograms.
Excellent condition and ready to use.
