Description

This is a lovely antique Victorian hallmarked solid sterling silver snuffer / pen tray measuring 9 1/2″ (24 cms) across x 4 1/4″ (11 cms) and in super condition with no damage at all.

It’s hallmarked for Sheffield 1838 with the silversmiths mark for Thomas, James & Nathaniel Creswick.

It has lovely shaped edging and is engraved in the centre ‘Presented, two silver candlesticks with snuffers and tray to the Revd Henry Palliser Costobadie curate of the Parish of Wensley as a tribute of respect from his parishoners for his faithful services’.

It weighs 242.50 grams which gives you some idea of the quality.
