This is a superb antique Edwardian hallmarked sterling silver pierced top box measuring 5” (13 cms) across x 2 1/4″ (6 cms) and 1 1/2” (3.5 cms) high.
The pierced decoration on the lid shows a beautiful lady resting with her crook – possibly Bo Peep.
It weighs 183.3 grams and is hallmarked for London 1905 with the silversmiths mark for Samuel Jacob – it’s also marked underneath with the retailers mark ‘A.Barratt & Sons, 63 & 64, Piccadilly, W’.
This is a lovely box in excellent condition and would also make a great new baby or Christening gift.
