Antique Victorian Sterling Silver ‘Coursing’ Trophy Cup 1888
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1888 with the silversmiths mark for William Wheatcroft Harrison.
This is a superb antique Victorian sterling silver trophy cup with two handles measuring 9″ (23 cms) across including the handles x 11 1/2″ (29 cms) high.
It’s hallmarked for Sheffield 1888 with the silversmiths mark for William Wheatcroft Harrison.
One side bears the inscription ‘Carmichael Coursing Meeting, October 1888, Tenants Cup, Presented by Sir W.C.Anstruther Bart’ and the other ‘Won by Dirleton Lass, Nominated by ‘Mr Robert Taylor Tenant of Pettinain Bank Farm’ .
It’s in excellent condition with no damage (any marks you can see in the photos are just reflections) and it weighs 936.5 grams which gives you an idea of the quality .
