This is a very impressive pair of antique Georgian sterling silver candlesticks measuring 11” (28 cms) high x 5 1/2" (14 cms) across the bases.
They have matching hallmarks for Sheffield 1820 with the silversmiths mark for John Watson & Son and the sconces have matching makers marks as well.
The sconces and bases are all marked with an armorial crest of a deer standing in front of a tree and they are bold and chunky with superb decoration
One is marked on the base and sconce 16.7 and the other is marked 16.3 which is the weight of the silver before the bases were filled which gives you some idea of the super quality
Underneath is green baize, they have filled bases and weigh a total of 2425 grams.
