This is a superb antique Georgian mahogany caddy measuring 10" (26 cms) x 6" (15 cms) x 7" (18 cms) and dating from c 1750 and in excellent original condition.
On the top is the original brass handle, and the key escutcheon is diamond shaped and in bone - unfortunately there is no key.
Inside there are three compartments where you put your different types of tea, or today you probably would fill it with desk or dressing table items
It has super colour and shape and is made from top quality mahogany with loads of movement in the grain.
Bearing in mind it's around 270 years old other than a minor graze or two, it is in remarkable condition.
