This is a superb antique Victorian tortoiseshell and sterling silver desk top letter/paper clip.
The heart shape base measures 5 1/4" (13 cms) x " (12.5 cms) across and is in excellent condition.
The tortoiseshell has beautiful colour and it has a lovely hallmarked silver spring clip in the style of Hermes the messenger of the gods.
It's hallmarked for London 1895 with the silversmiths mark for Samuel Jacob.
