This is a beautiful bronze statue of a boy standing on a tortoise by Otto Geyer.
It stands 8" (20 cms) high and the square marble base is 2 3/4" (7 cms) across.
The figure stands on a tortoise, which is signed by Geyer, and that stands on a red marble circular column which in turn stands on a marble base. Please note, there are 3 small chips to the edge of the square base (please see photos) but otherwise it's in excellent condition.
It is hard to date this exactly as Geyer was working for many years, but I think it's reasonable to assume it was made in the late 19th century, around 1880.
